Top 10 Favorite Songs! Music has proven to lift your mood and give you the feels, this is why I take extra care when choosing what songs I listen to. Below I have listed 10 songs which are my go-to on every occasion, check them out if you have not heard of these songs before and if you have, let me know why you like that song. Oh, and these are in no particular order.  Enjoy! Number One: Start a fire by Ryan Star This song is part of my morning playlist and honestly gets me moving in the morning. Growing up Brown, Female & Muslim

This blog is about me wearing the hijab as a child, experiencing racism and hating my religion because of it. However, I experience something even bigger and find my love for my hijab again.  When I was a child I used to wear a head scarf. For those of you that may not know, a headscarf is a head covering worn by Muslim females as part of religious and cultural requirements. I was in primary school and lived in a white folk area. I think the 7/7 bombing had happened and tensions were up in the air. Class mates and other pupils in my school were angry and went as far as calling me the P word when I was at school. Heck I even had my head scarf tugged on and pulled off when I was at school. And when I was out in the streets playing outside at our local shops with my mum, people mostly men would point, make fun of us and call us names. I hated wearing a headscarf so bad that I would pretend to wear it at school. I did this by wearing it to and from school but remov...

10 years later?

This time last year my ten year plan was completely different, I would have been 32 years of age and a Detective Inspector. But life doesn't happen the way you expect it will. I was planning to take my TI's which is an exam you take to become a detective, this was what I wanted to do when I first joined the Police. I then wanted to sit my Sergeants exam three years after being a qualified detective, Next I wanted to progress onto an Inspector three years after that. This was my dream career, making it big in the city of London. As for my dream love life, I wanted to adopt two children with a significant other, preferably a man who works within the emergency services. For example a hot doctor or fireman, never another police officer- Nope! I wanted to live in a high rise flat where the living room had one panel of glass running across it . I wanted a pet golden retriever who would run throughout the apartment and carry my children on its back. This was picture perfect life I w...
